This access statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with access needs, but aims to accurately describe the facilities and services that we offer all our guests/visitors.
Situated in beautiful Cheshire Countryside Spring Bank Farm Bed & Breakfast is a great place to break a journey or to use as a base in order to explore the region, visit customers, family or friends.
Our traditional Victorian Farm House sits within a 100 acre working beef and arable farm and we'll always offer you a warm welcome.
Located on the A534, we are just 1.5 miles from Junction 17 of the M6 motorway and 2 miles from the nearest historic town of Sandbach.
We offer 2 bedrooms, both of which are on the ground floor located in an annex adjoining the farmhouse. Breakfast is served in the dining room within the farmhouse. For breakfast, where possible, we use locally sourced ingredients and cater for varying dietary requirements.

  • The nearest local railway station is Holmes Chapel, which is 3.6 miles away. Crewe Railway Station is 7.3 miles away. Taxis are available at Crewe Station, however you have to pre-book taxis for Holmes Chapel. If you require an accessible taxi this can be booked in advance, see contact information for details.
  • The nearest bus stop is approx 200m from the B&B - at Arclid Crossroads/outside the former Rose & Crown Public House. All buses can accommodate one wheelchair. The No. 38 bus runs to/from Macclesfield-Sandbach-Crewe (Bus & Railway Stations) every hour with a slightly restricted timetable on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
  • There is no public footpath along the A534 running upto Arclid Crossroads.

Car Parking and Arrival
  • There is ample parking on the concrete yards and stoned areas. We have room for trailers, horse boxes and HGV's.
  • Guests park their vehicles on the yard behind the farmhouse. They are accompanied partway down the tarmaced driveway and then leading up 4 shallow pavement steps then along a paved footpath through the garden to the guest rooms. The yard, driveway and footpath is well lit at night by a motion sensor light.
  • Guests may go through the garden via the large wooden gate (10ft/120cms wide) up a slight bank on the grass surface rather than take the paved steps if preferred.

  • The guest rooms are located in a separate annexe next to the farmhouse.
  • The guest rooms are at ground floor level, there is a 14cm/5.5ins step at the front door into the rooms.
Welcome Area
  • Guests are greeted in the car park and taken straight to their rooms, where they are asked to register.
  • Guests are shown the dining room where breakfast is served (which is located adjacent to the Bed & Breakfast front door).
  • Both bedrooms have double beds, on the ground floor, with step free level access from the front door. There is also a double sofa bed in bedroom 2 for a personal assistant/carer or friend/family member.
  • The front door to the guest bedrooms is 820mm/32.25ins wide.
  • The guest room bedroom doors are 730mm/28.75ins wide.
  • Furniture can be easily removed or rearranged in both rooms.
  • The height of the beds from the top of the mattress to the floor is 550mm/21.5ins in Bedroom 1 and 600mm/23.5ins in Bedroom 2. Blocks to raise the height of the bed are available on request.
  • Rooms are bright and evenly lit. Overhead lighting is controlled by wall switches. Bedside lamps are also in each room. There is an additional reading lamp in Room 2.
  • Our bedrooms offer the following: Lighting as above, good colour contrast between the floor, walls and doors, oak effect laminate flooring, all bedding is non-feather, flatscreen wall mounted digital television with remote control, freeview, subtitles, and audio description facilities.
  • Heating is thermostatically controlled and adjustable in both rooms (radiators are fixed to the walls).
  • Electric convector freestanding heaters are available during the colder months for extra comfort.
  • Both rooms have a welcome tray with a kettle for hot drinks.
  • The bedrooms are locakable within and guests are also given a key to the front door to the guest rooms.
Bathrooms, Shower-rooms & Toilets (Ensuite or Shared)
  • Both rooms have en-suite bathrooms (with showers only).
  • Door openings to the bathrooms are 29.5ins/750mm wide.
  • A 10in/255mm step into the shower.
  • The glass shower door opens 33ins/840mm wide.
  • The toilet height is 16ins/410mm.
  • The wash hand basin is 32.5ins/825mm high.
  • Well lit with ceiling recessed lights.
  • Walls are part tiled in large marble beige glazed tiles and part emulsioned in cream and the floors are tiled with matt beige floor tiles. Sanitaryware is white with Chrome fittings.
Dining Room
  • The dining room is situated on the ground floor of the farmhouse. Guests enter directly from the garden with 2 steps (5.5ins/140mm & 7ins/180mm) up to level entry from the dining room external door.
  • The door opening is 33ins/840mm wide and it is level throughout.
  • Overhead Lighting is controlled by a dimmer switch.
  • The flooring in the dining room is a short pile plain red carpet.
  • We are able to cater for varying dietary requirements. Please advise us when making a booking.
  • Breakfast is served but you can help yourself to fruit juices, yogurt cereals and fruit.
  • There are patio tables and chairs available during the summer months.
  • The garden is large with flower beds and mature trees.
